Calgary is the fastest growing and largest city in Alberta.

Calgary is the head office city for the Canadian oil patch.
(I prefer life in Edmonton since it is the city where the productive work seems to actually get done).

To me Calgary has only been a city to pass through on the way to somewhere else. I would stop there while hitchiking or driving. I have applied for many jobs but have never been employed there.
The best thing in Calgary are the Rocky Mountains and Banff. Both are found an hour's drive to the west.
