Calgary is the head office city for the Canadian oil patch. (I prefer life in Edmonton since it is the city where actual productive work seems to get done). Calgary downtown snuggles in the bottom of the Bow River Valley.

To me Calgary has only been a city to pass through on the way to somewhere else. I would stop there while hitchiking or driving. I have applied for many jobs but have never been employed there.
The best thing in Calgary are the Rocky Mountains and Banff. Both are found an hour's drive to the west.
