| Edmonton is the service city for the vast northern Alberta and much of the Canadian Arctic.
It is North America's most northern large city. One of the things that I like about Edmonton is the way that a visitor can be barely out of the city limits yet be in remote rural scenery.

Downtown Edmonton is perched on the rim of the North Saskatchewan River. In may 1972 I spent a lovely afternoon relaxing on the Legislature Grounds.
