Between 1975 and 2003 I stayed many times with my friends in locations near the McLeod River.

Peers and Shining Bank:
Tom and Erica had a farm on the ridge north of Shining Bank Lake. This is almost 200 km (120 miles) from Edmonton and 1000 km (600 miles) from my usual home in Vancouver. (Western Canada has long distances and great empty spaces).
I visited in summer, autumn and the dead of winter. I would help with the chores, tell a few stories and always felt welcome.

In later years I revisited Whitecourt and area... some of those memories are pictured in other sections of this web site.
