After a lifetime of driving around many of the backroads of Northern BC,
I finally drove the Alaskan Highway to the Yukon in early June, 2007.
I made a trip to the Peace River and the area south of Fort St. John in 2002. You can find some photos on this July 2002 page.
BC is a big place. The city of Prince George is near the middle. It is more than 500 miles either south to Washington State or north to Yukon Territory. I was impressed with the great mountain ridge as seen in Pine Pass north of Prince George.

Pine Pass, British Columbia

Alaska Highway in BC: Fort St. John north to the Yukon

This section took me two long days of driving. I camped along the way.
The weather was good and I saw a lot of animal life. In some cases they seemed to be posing just for my camera.
