I took my first long range train trip across Canada with my sister and parents in 1967.
We stayed in Pullman cars with fold-down beds, we sat in the dome car and played bingo.
It was a great trip and I was hooked. In the early seventies I worked on the CNR railway in Dome Creek, Kitwanga and Boston Bar. I even spent a few weeks in Endako, Lillooet and Chetwynd. (Some of this story is shown at my Dome Creek and Kitwanga pages).
In 1986 Vancouver hosted a transportation themed World's Fair. One of the highlights was the Steam Expo at the end of May 1986. It was a unique occasion for picture taking.

The Royal Hudson is owned by the BC government. It did excursion trips from North Vancouver to Squamish for many years.

In later years, I travelled by train in Europe, Asia, USA and Australia.
Major highlights are found in my Year 2000 trip pages.
I travelled by train throughout Japan and then from Shanghai all the way to Moscow and then across Western Europe. I have also taken excursion steam train trips in several countries.
