I took these photos during a 2006 camping trip beside the Thompson River at Spences Bridge.

I have been struck by the interconnections of roads, trains and river every time that I visit the Fraser River Canyon and the Trans-Canada highway up the Thompson River. The highway, CNR and CPR are so closely wrapped around each other.

In 1990 I drove my new city car down the crazy gravel road which runs under the power line from Boston bar to Lytton. A cable ferry crosses the Fraser at Lytton.
