Kispiox village contains totempoles situated in the midst of village life.

The Kispiox Valley starts a few minutes north of British Columbia Highway 16 and the Hazeltons. Travelling north from Old Hazelton one first comes to the small hamlet of Glen Vowell (Sikokoak). A short distance further -- about 15 KM from Highway 16 -- one finds the slightly larger village of Kisipox where these photos were taken. My visit in June 2007 was during a constant light rain.
These poles are surrounded by some unremarkable houses and a tired looking general store. The rodeo grounds are short walk away. These poles are a combination of old and new. The town is also known as Anspayax.
The first two photos show both ends of the row of approximately 16 totem poles.
