I have some family history in Montreal, I visited for Expo 67 and I worked there in 1972 and 1976.

In 1972 Montréal was still hosting an annual summer fair at the site of the Expo 67. My friend Terri was working as a guide. We managed to watch one of the early 1972 Summit Series hockey games in the office of the Soviet Pavilion.

My work in Montreal during both stays was at the biggest hotel in Canada.
They ran the restaurants in Place Ville Marie where I worked in 1976.

The city of Montreal is known as the second largest French-speaking city in the world...
but, on the island of Montreal, native French speakers are barely in the majority.
