This page shows my personal view of Tokyo and area in Japan as visited in 1983 and 1985.

Tokyo is crazy busy but there are many quiet places to relax, including temples and the Tokyo Zoo. Indoors, the department store elevator girls provide a smile.

To escape the city it helps if you can decode the railway maps and the ticket machines. The train is in a park in Narita.

The beauty of Japan is in the details. Narita temple is near the country's busiest airport.

The great Daibatsu of Kamakura city. Kamakura is also a summer beach hotspot past Yokohama.
