This page shows my personal view of Queensland (and nearby northern New South Wales) Australia.

This is an area of fine beaches, good people and hot weather. Why have I not returned?
I visited Queensland three times and lived there for a few months. I last left there in 1985. Brisbane (pronounced Brizb'n) is a river city with some interesting and historic small hotels.

In the Brisbane parks during the October springtime I was most impressed with the purple Jacaranda and brilliant red flowered flame trees. I thought that these trees only bloomed in Queensland until I later lived in Alameda, California.

I spent a month in Coolangatta, Qld and its sister city of Tweed Heads, NSW. This is the cool, laid back end of the Gold Coast.

The scenery in nearby parts of New South Wales was sometimes impossibly green. This swimming hole had a deep drop into a cave.

I have lost track of my Australian friends. If Rod and Jan Parker of Brisbane Luxaflex, or any other of my other old friends/acquaintances sent me a message it would certainly brighten my day. It is difficult to track old friends in Australia since the phone directories only list initials and surnames without the first names.
