Thailand, a personal view.

I visited Thailand in 1975, 1983 and 1985. This page mainly shows my travels north of Bangkok.
Outside the northern city of Chang Mai I visited Bo Sang village where they specialize in painted umbrellas. The colours in the paint pots seem dripped for the maximum visual effect.

In Chiang Mai I visited temples and shopped for art and fabrics.

After studying my map, I took the train and bus trip to the banks of the Mekong at the town of Chiang Khong. While the hotel accomodation was terrible, the scenery looking from my river bank balcony across the Mekong River to Laos was magnificent.
