USA is a much visited but not always fully appreciated mega-country.
As a Canadian who grew up just an hour from the American border, I have visited many times.
I have been at least briefly in every state as long as you include brief encursions during cross country trips.
There are many things to see in and appreciate in the land south of the Canadian border.
I have some close American friends and even a few Yankee ancestors.
There are some things in the USA that don't always smell like roses;
but there is so much else to appreciate and cherish.
(I just wished that the cherishing part would include a bit less garbage, asphalt and weaponry).
This section concetrates and the New England States and the southern area near Mississippi and Louisiana.
In 1976 I took two weeks to drive from Montreal to Vancouver.
I headed down the East Coast as far as South Carolina. In 1997 to 1998 I worked in Jackson, Mississippi.
On several trips from 1995 to 2008 I visited various locations in the North East.
I have photos from New England and the South on my other pages.
The first group of photos includes Nantucket ships, Newport homes, Virgina Beach bridges and Charleston streets and alleys.
The trees are in rural Georgia, the Parthenon is in Nashville.
I love those long early morning vistas in mid America.
