My first visit to Philadelphia was in late 1976 as I drove across the USA

I visited the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Upon my visit the movie Rocky had not yet opened. The stairs up to the entrance were the scene of one of that film's most iconic scenes.
Inside the main entrance is a great view of Diana the Huntress.
Outside a back window was a view across Schuylkill River to Boat House Row that seems to be miles out in the country instead of in the heart of great city.

Across the street I got a glimpse of the Rodin Collection and yet another Gates of Hell.
(Regular visitors to this site will know that I have photographed several copies).

I visited Independance Hall just as they shut the doors. There are no electric lights inside. I visited one of Ben Franklin's homes -- only the outline remains -- and his simple grave right along a public sidewalk.
