Vancouver hosted a World's Fair in 1986. I took some photos of the demolition scenes as buildings were removed and recycled.

Pacific Blvd looking back past the Roundhouse to BC Place stadium. The industrial area Inuksuk (aka InukShuk or Inunnguaq) was eventually moved to English Bay Beach. Eventually a silly cartoon version was somehow selected as the appropriate symbol to represent Vancouver city culture to the world as the symbol for the 2010 Winter Olympics. Surely we could have found a more appropriate natice symbol closer to home.
