North Vancouver is the city on the North Shore of Burrard Inlet.

Lynn Valley is a special place in the District of North Vancouver. The trees cut there a hundred years might have been the tallest ever measured on this planet. The waters of Lynn Creek have dug a deep narrow canyon. There is a free swinging suspension bridge over the canyon. The gentle pools above the bridge are a popular summer spot to picnic and splash.

Tourists seem to prefer the over priced, much tamer and somewhat racially ignorant Capilano Suspension Bridge.

A short distance upstream one can escape completely from the city. Their is a salmon hatchery below Cleveland Dam. It is particularly impressive when the river is high.

I learned to ski on Grouse Mountain... but in the early eighties Liz Watson and I made a summer road trip to the top on a street Yamaha.

Another eighties trip was up Indian Arm to the old Wigwan Inn. (There are many places close to Vancouver that are rarely visited by people without yachts).
