My visits to DC have been short but my good luck provided some great photos.
I made a short visit to Washington in 1976. I also spent several days there in 1989.

I start with the Lincoln Memorial in 1989 and then pictures of the White House and Pennsylvania Avenue. In 1976 Jimmy Carter had just been elected. Things were being cleaned and painted for the innauguration. In those days the security was more innocent and casual visitors could get quite close. The squirrel waited in a park across the street for any visitor who would turn the fountain on.
After that I include pictures from inside the Library of Congress, from the front of the Supreme Court Building and on the Mall.

Arlington Cemetary, Iwo Jima monument in snow My earlier visit included a visit to Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia. There was light snow on the ground. I took a photos of the Iwo Jima memorial statue and of Bobby Kennedy's simple grave marker.
The Washington monument was barely visible through the snow.

Washington Monument and sun in DC Lincoln Memorial from Washington Monument in DC I visited the Washington Monument and climbed the stairs to the top. It was a great place for pictures towards the Jefferson and Lincoln Memorials, over the White House and up the Mall to the Capitol Buildings.

During my latter visit I attended a computer trade show. I also found a lot of time to visit the National Gallery and the Smithsonian Museum.
