I made some good photos in early November. See the bottom of my November 2000 page. Most recently, I finally purchased the new camera that I had been lusting for. These examples are from the first few weeks of use.
In late November, I visited the Marin County Civic centre in San Rafael. When I was there before the building was covered with scaffolding for renovations. Also, I now have a zoom lens and macro capabilities. This is one of the final examples of Frank Lloyd Wright's architectural genius.
I visited the Point Reyes National Seashore. It is amazing that such a lonely landscape is found within an hour's drive of San Francisco. The seashore was more rugged than I expected. There are more than 400 steps down to the lighthouse.
As you can see the new camera does a great job on the details. The next three pictures show closer and closer views of the beaches north of the pictureslighthouse.
I returned over the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge. World-famous Golden Gate is only one of several fine bridges in the San Francisco area.
On December 8th I spent a couple hours poking around the Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39 areas of San Francisco. Though San Francisco is justly famed for its photogenic qualities it is often difficult to make good photos there. haze and fog is common throughout the year. These examples show grey subjects on a grey sea in a grey sky.
I tried out my zoom lens on the 'Sea Lions' that mass on the floats at Pier 39. The bulls strut and the females laze.
