A big summer event in Vancouver is the Molson Vancouver Indy. Formerly run on the Labour Day weekend, it has been moved to late July. The course runs through the former Expo grounds. It is now overlooked by some luxurious apartment buildings.

The race grounds include a lot of advertising, promotions and high priced souvenirs. I even made a few new girlfriends; though I do have some doubt on their sincerity...

The current course design makes it quite necessary to get a grandstand seat if one wants to make any sense of the race. I ended up with a Gold Grandstand ticket. This was not the best location to see watch the race action but I did snap a few action photos.

I was sitting behind the Newman-Haas pits. This made a fine spot for people watching: Cristiano Fittipaldi and a pair of Andrettis.

Paul Tracy was a bit puzzled by the acrobatics...

I even got some Paul Newman photos. He is the team co-owner.
